What is Recruit & Train Programme (RTP)?
The Recruit & Train Programme (RTP) is designed to help companies meet your manpower needs through providing employers with up to 90% salary support for 3-6 months, to support the following On-Job-Training (OJT) initiatives:
- Train new hires so they can convert into a new career or job scope, that is different from their previous job.
- Re-skill existing employees to take on higher value and growth jobs identified under Industry Transformation Maps (ITMs) or Job Transformation Maps (JTMs).
Who is it for?
Full-time Singaporean or PR employees that receive monthly CPF contributions.
These employees should not be shareholders, related to the shareholders, or immediate ex-staff.
New Hires
New employees that will be reskilled into new in-demand growth jobs, that is substantially different from their previous job roles.
Existing Employees
Current employees that have been with your company for at least 12 months, that you will reskill into a new in-demand growth job.
What is the funding amount?
Eligible companies can receive up to 90% salary funding for 3-6 months for eligible candidates.

Frequently Asked Questions
One of the key features of this programme is its focus on On-Job-Training (OJT). This means that the training is conducted as part of the employee’s day-to-day work by a suitable mentor within the company (e.g. employee’s manager, company director).
There will need to be a structured on-job-training plan designed based on the individual’s unique reskilling needs. Your company will be funded for the duration of the OJT, which is typically 3-6 months.
While external training courses are not mandatory as part of this programme, if you would like to supplement OJT with external training courses for your employees, you are definitely welcome to do so to best support their learning & development.
As long as your company and employee meets all the eligibility criteria, you can enrol them into RTP and potentially secure salary support funding for them.
- Your new employee’s employment start date is 1 Jan 2024.
- You can only start application on 1 Jan 2024 onwards.
- You need to apply and secure funding approval by 31 Mar 2024.
