What is Career Trial (CT)?

Career Trial (CT) is a short-term trial (up to 3 months) designed to help employers test out potential new hires, before offering formal employment.

Career Trial is targeted at full-time jobs paying at least $1,500/month, and part-time jobs paying at least $750/month. Your jobseeker will receive a monthly training allowance directly from Workforce Singapore (WSG) / NTUC e2i during the Career Trial duration.

Who is it for?

Singaporean and PR jobseekers who are actively seeking employment prior to commencing Career Trial.

Jobseekers must be unemployed during the application and Career Trial duration (i.e. no CPF contribution and not engaged in any form of employment including self-employment, part-time, ad-hoc, or temporary work).

What is the funding amount?

Hourly Training Allowance

Jobseekers will receive a baseline training allowance of $7.50 per hour during the Career Trial period. Training allowance is paid directly to the jobseeker from Workforce Singapore (WSG) / NTUC e2i.

If the jobseeker is converted into permanent employment with your company after the Career Trial, Workforce Singapore (WSG) / NTUC e2i will provide a top-up of the training allowance to the tiers as illustrated below, if conditions are met.

Retention Incentive

If the converted jobseeker continues to stay on in your company for at least 3 months, the jobseeker will receive further Retention Incentive from Workforce Singapore (WSG) / NTUC e2i.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many jobseekers can I apply for under Career Trial?
For a start, you can apply for 1-2 jobseekers per open position under Career Trial. To find out more, book a discovery session with our team so we can do a personalised assessment.
Do I need to convert the jobseeker into permanent employment after Career Trial?
If you do not find a satisfactory job fit, you are not obligated to convert your jobseeker into permanent employment after Career Trial.

The Career Trial is designed for you to test out if you want to offer permanent employment to this candidate or not :)
Does the jobseeker receive the funding on a monthly basis?
Yes, the jobseeker will receive the funding within 2 weeks after the end of each month.

The funding will be paid to them directly from Workforce Singapore (WSG) / NTUC e2i. The employer will not need to receive or process this payment.
How long is the application process for Career Trial?
The application and approval process for Career Trial can take up to 3 months.

Please take note that your candidate should not be receiving CPF contribution from any company during this application and approval period. This includes having no CPF contribution from their previous employer (i.e. they must have completed serving their notice period).
